Hm, very cool. The shock wave looks nice and I like the design of the little, ship-like things flying away from it. What I especially like about them is that there seems to be some sort of texture on them. I cannot tell if that is due to something about the lighting or if it is actually a texture, but it beats them looking perfectly flat and smooth which I have noticed a lot of abstract artists do. Just the little variation makes them much more interesting. The color palatte is a nice choice too, I'm glad its not just a mishmash of color.

There's only one or two things that irk me a little about the picture. The biggest one is the little tendrils of lightning (or whatever they are suppossed to be). They are really, really stragely and thin looking. I would bet they aren't more than a pixel wide, though I haven't checked. They stick out amongst all the other pieces that tie in so well together. I thinik if they had a slightly anti-aliased edge on them, they would look more natural and a part of the picture. The other part that bothers me a bit, is the bottom part of the shockwave. At the very bottom it doesn't have anything going on in the section and it is easy to see that there is not much variance in the shockwave texture. I would either add something there to break it up, like it has over the rest of it, or take that one open spot to add some nice and interesting complexion to the shock wave that could then be assumed over the rest of it (you won't have to necessarrily do the same complexity over the rest of it, because you cannot see it as well elsewhere).

Other than that, good job. :D
